Job Description
Pay range: $66,880 - $83,600 / annually
The District Fitness Manager (DFM) is responsible for the growth of Fitness professionals and programming at Chuze. Invest in the team by recruiting and mentoring FMs and FitPros, ensuring they master Chuze policies to elevate the district in customer service, cleanliness, and culture. The DFM demonstrates strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills by building strong relationships with members and staff, creating a welcoming community through positive interactions, and fostering an inclusive community.
The DFM role is for a dynamic leader ready to inspire, innovate, and shape the future of fitness at Chuze.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Build professional relationships and develop all direct reports through feedback, performance reviews, team-building activities and leading management meetings
Engage in the growth and development process by maintaining current fitness certifications and proactively seeking opportunities for personal growth
Cultivate a strong, professional rapport with members and promote participation in all Fitness offerings by coordinating promotional events and establishing a sense of community, influencing the district to go above and beyond in customer service, cleanliness, and culture
Effectively determine the proper course of action in high-level member concerns escalated from club management, partnering with the Member Experience team as needed
Establish and maintain strong cross-departmental communication and teamwork with the Operations and Maintenance staff to effectively meet member and facility needs
Lead FMs to develop a strong partnership with HR to address escalated personnel concerns, providing proactive solutions, and encouraging relationship development
Facilitate educational opportunities for the fitness team in collaboration with RDF and the Fitness Development Team
Approve bi-weekly Payroll cycles for FMs and ensure accuracy and completion of timecards for FitPros
Approve and proactively review and elevate all recruiting efforts within the district, maintaining oversight of staff levels and hiring needs, and recruiting and training new FMs and FitPros to go above and beyond in customer service, cleanliness, and culture
Utilize current Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) and Business Intelligence Tools to ensure standards are met for club evaluations and budgets, measuring the effectiveness of programming, partnering with the RDF to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation district-wide
Collaborate among management to assemble discussion points and activities for district, region, and company-wide meetings and outings, fostering a positive and professional environment with adherence to the Chuze Code of Conduct

Essential Physical Requirements:
- Read, write, and speak clearly in English
- Touring the club: walking and climbing stairs
- Sitting or standing for long periods
- Leading and performing high-intensity workouts
- Repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movements
- Typing and computer operations
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
Experience
Required- Organized, accountable, and able to set, prioritize, and reach goals in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and build trust from others
- Capacity to lead and motivate a large group with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current CPR/AED certification (or obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
- Access to reliable transportation with the ability to regularly travel between clubs within the market
- 2 year(s): Experience as a Fitness Professional with current certification
- 3 year(s): Multi-unit management experience or equivalent industry work
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree or currently continuing education
