What You'll Do
- Enter requests for Prior Authorizations
- Verify patient eligibility with health insurance provider
- Communicate directly with families about benefits, visit limits, etc. to help the family maximize their benefit
- Code services/procedures appropriately
- Obtain and provide requests and documentation to determine patient coverage and approval
- Confidentially handle all private health information
- Track and record patient visits to ensure they do not go over the maximum allowed benefit. contacting families in regards to visit limits.
- Communicate visit limits with other members of the Child's team (ie: therapists and CMs) to assist them through the remaining visits.
- General customer service with patients by phone, email and in person
- Completes work within authorized time to assure compliance within departmental standards
- Engages in clinic and discipline/department activities, such as clinic or team meetings, discipline meetings and staff training days as applicable.
- Uphold CI Missions and values and follows CI policies & procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, processes manuals, and other internal documents/forms of communication.
- Maintain a clean and functional work space(s).
- Other duties as assigned
What You'll Need To Be Successful
- Required Skills:
- Excellent time management and attention to detail

- Knowledge of reimbursement practices, medical termination and health insurance
- Experience with using medical billing software
- Efficient problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to conduct research and identify steps required to resolve issues and follow through to completion
- Demonstrate continued dedication to CI, position expectations, and team members.
- Maintain an up to date CPR certification.
- Energized by helping people and seeing the positive impact of your efforts
- Working knowledge of procedure and diagnosis coding
- This position takes patience and determination along with empathy and the drive to want to help the families get what is best for their child.
Working Conditions
- Clinic/office setting: Ability to work up to 20% of work week from home
- Occasional travel required
- Working Hours generally fall between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday.
- Full-time only
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move individuals and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be physically able to work around small children including sitting, standing, running, bending, etc.
