Overview
Bring your passion for Lighting and Design to Selux in the Manager, Technical Lighting Solutions role. Supervise, train and motivate Lighting Solutions technical team by developing, implementing and managing innovative lighting solutions for architectural projects. Collaborate with design, engineering and project management teams to offer creative solutions. Interface with customers regarding technical aspects of Selux products. Determine the best project solution to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to organization polices. Product expert to share technical knowledge of assigned products. Support New Product Development and Marketing efforts.
Salary Range: 90,000 - 110,000
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and engineering of lighting solutions for diverse commercial and architectural projects. Provide technical guidance and support for product development, application, and installation processes.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Lighting Solutions team including direct management, training and mentoring of team members.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, designers, engineers, and project managers, to ensure lighting designs meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.
- Stay updated with emerging lighting technologies, industry trends, and standards, providing insights into the continuous improvement of Selux’s product offerings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure the highest quality products and services. Request quotes from vendors to support custom project requests.
- Drive continuous improvement in lighting solutions by analyzing project feedback and identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Assist with preparing project proposals, presentations, and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations. Assist Regional Sales Managers and project management teams with technical questions.
- Assist with technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for projects.
- Support lighting rep / agency training, internal training, and customer training by assisting with the planning and coordinating of technical subject matter.
- Perform lighting calculations utilizing AGi32. Perform photometric comparisons of Selux products to competitive products.
- Manage BIM library (Revit) and maintain Photometry Library including creation of IES files.
- Perform photometric testing for new and existing products – assisting New Product Development team and customer project requests.
- Lead product sustainability efforts and manage / create Declare Labels for new and existing products.
- Visit with and/or present to customers on an as needed basis (i.e. – site visits, lighting tours, extracurricular activities).
- Review and approve custom requests (interior and exterior lighting products) – includes providing solutions, specification codes, pricing, and lead times.
- Manage DarkSky product listings and compliance with DarkSky criteria.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Lighting or Architecture
- 5 years’ relevant lighting work experience, with proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Experience managing technical teams and working closely with cross-functional departments
- Proficient with AGi32, AutoCAD, Revit, and other related tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
- A passion for innovation and a commitment to sustainability in lighting solutions.
- Strong understanding of architectural lighting, LED technologies and industry standards
- Ability to read lighting and manufacturing blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
