What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Mammal Monitor - Infrastructure position at Cianbro?

Job Responsibilities
  • Watch for marine mammals during pile driving operations is the primary duty.
  • Identify and document marine mammal sightings.
  • Communicate sightings to other observers.
  • Use binoculars and a compass to locate and identify species of marine mammals and bearings.
  • Observe for long periods of time.
  • Report animal sightings effectively and accurately.
  • Maintain any required logs.
  • Outfit and maintain proper safety equipment.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of (1) Biology class, course work in marine biology preferred.
  • Computer and mobile technology preferred.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Must also have a vehicle/cell phone.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Must be able to work all daylight hours.
