- Watch for marine mammals during pile driving operations is the primary duty.
- Identify and document marine mammal sightings.
- Communicate sightings to other observers.
- Use binoculars and a compass to locate and identify species of marine mammals and bearings.
- Observe for long periods of time.
- Report animal sightings effectively and accurately.
- Maintain any required logs.
- Outfit and maintain proper safety equipment.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of (1) Biology class, course work in marine biology preferred.
- Computer and mobile technology preferred.
- Flexible schedule.
- Must also have a vehicle/cell phone.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Must be able to work all daylight hours.
