What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, VMware technologies and Azure resources, Install and Configure Windows/Linux Servers, develop servers and provide support to individual users to ensure that the system works reliably and quickly and manage server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX. The role provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices. You are also responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the instances of the on-prem and cloud infrastructure services and the servers and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Knowledge in Application Insights, service principal in Azure, NSG rule, Azure Key vault is a must. You also work closely with other IT departments and vendors to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server performance and access Install and maintain Windows-based programs for end users and help debug applications so that they work with Windows servers. Performing System Maintenance activities like review backups, error logs and user-reported errors and identify stable and reliable solutions is a must and an ability to monitor performance to reduce interruptions and server crashes, developing and deploying initiative-taking solutions and setup alerts to ensure system usability across the organization, developing and maintaining systems that adhere to compliance regulations and security best practices and standards is required,

How You Will Succeed

  • Troubleshooting and Technical Skills - Work closely with key business and technology partners to ensure that business and client impact issues are well understood and addressed. Ensure all infrastructure management aspects maintain adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies.
  • Critical Thinker – Create better ways of solving technical problems and not be afraid of challenging the status quo.
  • Relationship Management - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers. Lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved.

Who You Are

  • You demonstrate an extensive experience in Azure administration, including extensive experience managing and administering Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services. Experience in Azure VM troubleshooting, handling RBACs, working with Key Vaults, Web Apps, Functions apps and Blob Storage is a must. You must also have 5 year of experience with virtualization platforms, including VMWare, Windows, Active Directory and Azure is required.
  • You have a strong critical thinking skills and ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance. You possess an excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. You are flexible and are able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and can manage projects of varying length. You are responsible, highly dependable, organized; able to work individually and collaboratively with peers. You provide troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support.
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $103,900 - $144,300 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
