What You’ll Be Doing
As a Capital Markets Summer Analyst, you will work on our Chicago Global Markets trading desk, assisting the Sales Traders with CIBC’s clients foreign exchange, commodities, and interest rate needs. The team offers clients sophisticated trading strategies and a full line-up of execution services. We also offer structured products for foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity hedging solutions.
As a Summer Analyst, you will have the responsibility of assisting with analytical reports, financial modeling, structuring, research, transaction support, and other ad hoc requests for senior sales professionals in your business, with the goal of helping to grow the business.
CIBC Summer Analyst program in the US is ten weeks long. Analysts are assigned to the Capital Markets group in Chicago to learn about the sales role. Our orientation and summer-long training program provides incoming Analysts with the right skill set to optimize their on-the-job performance and to provide them with a comprehensive view of our Global Markets businesses.

You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in a Business related discipline including Economics, Finance or related at the time of the internship
Expected graduation date of December 2026 – June 2027

Learn to effectively communicate complex information
Develop relationships with CIBC professionals on assigned desks and across the trading floor
Participate in the CIBC intern program including: interacting with a mentor, attending lunch and learns, intern mixers, and offsite events, collaborate with the rest of the intern class while working on the Intern Case Presentation

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $105,000 - $115,000 (pro-rated for the 10-week internship program) for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
