What You'll Be Doing
The Director of Operations Management (Director) provides senior leadership and direction to a major US operations division, which may encompass several large, complex, or more risk intensive operations departments. The Director will be responsible for the performance and results of this critical division and ensure that the banks strategic, transformational, and tactical objectives are being met. In addition, there is a strong emphasis on effectively running, protecting and transforming the bank to support the banks growth and complexity, to meet regulatory and risk demands, and to meet internal and external client expectations. To be successful, the Director must be a strong communicator and collaborator, focus on a reliable and resilient production environment to support client demands, operate in a well-controlled environment with a risk mindset, effectively acquire and develop talent, embrace diversity, and appropriately build relationships and align with enterprise / Canada standards and expectations.
How You'll Succeed
Provide strong leadership and management that will meet strategic, transformational and tactical objectives for the division
Effectively run, protect and transform the division to meet the banks growth, regulatory, and complexity demands
Measure results to assess performance relative to objectives
Develop and maintain strong reporting to manage the business, including KPIs
Lead and embrace a strong culture that includes an emphasis on communication, collaboration, process improvement, risk mindset, operational resilience, and being a champion for change
Lead and coordinate prioritized projects
Ensure day-to-day activities are effectively managed, including implementing and adhering to policies and procedures
Collaborate effectively with partners across TI&I and internal partners outside TI&I including, Treasury Management, all lines of business, HR, and Risk functions
Effectively manage and oversee third party vendors
Acquire and develop talent
Embrace and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion
Build strong relationships with enterprise / Canadian CIBC partners and align with appropriate enterprise standards and expectations
Who You Are
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree an asset
Strong management experience (10 years) and proven ability to manage a team of employees
Risk and control focus and experience
Effective verbal and written communicator
Strong collaborator
Change management experience
Vendor management experience
Process optimization / lean six sigma experience a plus
Strong analytical capabilities
Ability to present in a clear and concise manner to senior management or committee level groups
Proficient in MS Office Suite

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component .
