Job Summary
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for the evaluation, assessment, and treatment planning based on the functional needs of the patients and families coping with an acute or chronic hematological condition. PT is responsible to work with the Clinic staff and team to coordinate the care and services of CIBD patients across the continuum of illness; provides services within full scope of licensure consistent with the standards of practice and regulations governed by the California Board of Physical Therapy; State of California Medicaid programs such as California Children’s Services (CCS), Genetically Handicapped Program (GHPP) and Federal/State/County program guidelines. Works with the multi-disciplinary care team to achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes. Provide team-based patient-centered care in a collaborative setting under established best practice and national guidelines.

Essential Job Duties
- The Physical Therapist will perform musculoskeletal physical therapy evaluation for hematology patients of all ages focusing on joint health.
- The Physical Therapist will implement appropriate physical therapy modalities, treatments, equipment training and plans of care for patients with blood disorders.
- The Physical Therapist will educate patients and families on role and of physical therapy and musculoskeletal issues related to their blood disorder.
- The Physical Therapist will act as a physical therapy resource for the HTC staff and medical team.
- The Physical Therapist will complete physical therapy evaluation requirements and forms for any current clinic research studies.
Requirements
- Active California Board of Physical Therapy License
- Graduation from an Accredited Physical Therapy school/program
- One year of experience working with families and children
- One year of general acute experience
- Basic Life Support
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with children, families and adults in a healthcare setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Clinical Doctorate Degree
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
