Cibes|Symmetry is currently recruiting for Crater at our Roanoke, IL Facility.
This is a 1st shift position: 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays for a few hours depending on our workload.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The incumbent packs and crates products and materials according to work order requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read work orders to determine unit or piece to be packed and crated
- Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records
- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met
- Measure, weigh, and count products and materials
- Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools
- Place products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment
- Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools
- Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools
- Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners and hand tools
- Visually inspect packing to ensure products are secure and protected for shipment
- Maintain a clean, safe work area free of foreign materials
- Participate in training and cross-training efforts as needed
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired
- Experience using tools such as industrial shrink wrap, utility knives, box sealing tape dispensers, staple guns, screw guns, miter saw, and drills
- Experience using standard rulers
- Forklift operator experience strongly desired
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic math, standard ruler measurements, reading, and reasoning skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of the above mentioned tools
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work effectively in a team
Pay depending on experience.
