The Cibolo Creek Municipal Authority (CCMA) , provides regional wastewater services for the area northeast of San Antonio, Texas and serves the communities of Schertz, Cibolo, Selma, Randolph Air Force Base, and portions of Live Oak, San Antonio, and Universal City. The overall system includes the gravity interceptor system, lift stations, force mains, a water reclamation plant, and a reclaimed water distribution system. The Authority maintains approximately 20.5 miles of gravity sewer line and 8.5 miles of force main. In general, the gravity system follows the natural topography and drainage basins flowing to CCMA’s Odo J. Riedel Regional Water Reclamation Plant which is rated for an annual average flow of 10 million gallons per day. The Authority has expanded its wastewater system to meet the projected demands of its wholesale customers. The CCMA service area encompasses approximately 58,261 acres.
Position Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Technician position, under the direction of the Assistant Facility Maintenance Superintendent, is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Authority’s properties, including collection system lift stations and Administrative office
Qualifications:
Education/ Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Possess a valid Texas Drivers License with good driving record and safely handle a trailer in tow..
- Pass a pre-employment physical with drug screen.
- Must work towards obtaining a valid Class “D” Wastewater Operator Certification as issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is highly promoted
- Must maintain a good driving record and abide by all traffic laws, rules, and regulations when operating a company vehicle or equipment.
- Applicant must have a satisfactory outcome of background check.
Special Knowledge/ Skills:
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to communication skills, both written and oral.
- Basic understanding of motor vehicles, mowers, grass/tree trimmers, blowers, tractors and tractor towed equipment, including trailers..
- Ability to understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ability to perform math skills and use a calculator.
- Ability to properly utilize personal protection equipment as required by appropriate safety protocols and procedures.
- Climb up & down vertical ladders and staircases up to 40 feet.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Operate powered hand tools.
- Lift loads of forty pounds chest high.
- Walk several miles a day while operating a push mower or brush trimmer.
- Perform basic first aid and CPR.
- Employ sound judgment when performing duties.
- Work a typical 8-hour Hour day. Hours may be extended.
- Work involves walking, standing and driving from place to place.
- Must be willing to travel to obtain certification training necessary for TCEQ Operator Certification.
- Work overtime when necessary, with the possibility of emergency response.
Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Operates and maintains the assigned grounds equipment, machinery, vehicles and related appurtenances and reports to the Facility Maintenance Superintendent on any major equipment maintenance or repairs needed on equipment.
- Performs routine grounds and roads maintenance on Authority facilities and properties including fence repair and maintenance associated with property fence lines.
- Performs landscaping and building maintenance on the Authority’s properties and administration office.
- Performs basic pest control tasks on the Authority’s property.
- With direction from a Supervisor, assist the plant, collection systems or vehicle maintenance staff when needed including assisting in hose connection operations associated with the biosolids application program.
- With direction from a Supervisor, performs on-site maintenance and irrigation operations on the Authority’s reclaimed water storage facility which includes maintenance needed on the ponds floating cover. This also includes remote locations and sampling stations.
- Works a scheduled 40 hour work week almost entirely in outside working conditions with the possibility of some overtime work.
- Performs other tasks as requested by Supervisor(s)

Pay: $21.00 - $26.25 per hour
