Job Title : Cook

Position Scope : As a Cook, you will support the delivery and execution of quality food service to residents and guests.

Reports to : Director of Culinary

FLSA Status : Full-time

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations.
Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift.
Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system.
Cooking order according to food health and safety standards.
Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes.
Handling multiple food orders at one time.
Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive.
Dressing order for presentation.
Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides
Delivering food order to wait staff in a timely manner
Storing all food properly
Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils
Reordering stock and food supplies
Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS :

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift

Self-motivated and self-directed

Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks

Able to quickly multiple orders

High school degree or equivalent

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS :

Walk / Stand - must be able to continuously walk and stand.

Environment Condition - must be able to perform work both inside and outside

Sit - sit infrequently

Lift - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 - 50 pounds

Carry - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 - 50 pounds

Push - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 - 50 pounds

Climb - must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available

Bend - must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis; may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.

Squat - must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.

Twist or rotate - must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.

Reach- must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.

Sensory Vision - must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses

Hear - Must be able to hear telephone and audible alarms.

Must be able to taste and smell.

Speech / Language - must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administration information.
