Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documenting medication administration and any changes in residents' conditions.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist with tube feeding as needed, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition.
- Provide support and care for residents with disabilities, promoting their independence and dignity.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect residents' privacy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for residents.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices in medication administration and senior care.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to medication administration.
- Experience in assisted living or senior care settings is preferred.
- Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding their implications for resident health.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the protection of resident information.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
