Position Summary:
The position of Avionics Technician reports to the appropriate Department Manager and is responsible for the proper receipt, teardown, inspection, part/material requisition, assembly, and testing in accordance with approved technical data to meet established business objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform work assignments as directed by shop management.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Record information and complete work assignments in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies and Procedures.
- Use appropriate inspection techniques and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being serviced.
- Utilize proper test equipment or suitable alternatives and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
- Comply with all safety directives and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- Maintain personal and shop-calibrated tools in satisfactory operational condition.
- Assist the Department Manager and Engineers with developing new repair capabilities.
- Interact daily with Quality Inspectors, Engineers, and Buyers.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills:
- High school diploma GED.
- 2 Years aviation Avionics experience.
- 2-5 years of combined bench or line experience working on Avionics components. Performing teardown, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of aircraft Avionics components. Extensive knowledge of Avionics components is required for this position.
- Knowledge of and the ability to operate various test equipment. Scopes, analyzers, and flukes.
- Must be capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced industry while meeting established timelines.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with all levels of internal contacts.
- Detail orientated and organized.
- Willingness to work additional hours as required to meet operational objectives.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions, exercising risk-taking when necessary.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work without close supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects.
- Occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level, or carry lightweight materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
