Job Title: Network Hardware Engineer
Location: Hybrid Primary location in San Diego, CA with travel to various locations in California and Arizona
Employment Type: Contract (6-month engagement, potential for contract-to-hire)
Schedule: 40 hours per week, must be available for emergency support, including nighttime interventions
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Hardware Engineer to support network infrastructure operations across multiple locations in California and Arizona. The ideal candidate will be based in San Diego, CA, and be willing to travel as needed. The role requires expertise in SD-WAN, network segmentation, and access control, along with strong documentation skills and the ability to collaborate with MSP partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including SD-WAN, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including responding to emergencies outside normal business hours.
- Implement and manage network segmentation and access control lists (ACLs).
- Work closely with MSP partners to ensure firewall security and network integrity.
- Maintain and update network documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Configure and manage single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
- Ensure compatibility and functionality of Cisco IOS, Windows-based networking, and firewall solutions.
- Provide support for Cisco Meraki, Intune, AOVPN, VDI, Azure, and Entra ID.
- Assist in switch configuration management and ensure compliance with security protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in network engineering.
- Must be local to San Diego or within reasonable travel distance.
- Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, network segmentation, Cisco IOS, and firewall solutions (Checkpoint preferred but not required).
- Expertise in access control lists (ACLs), single sign-on (SSO) configuration, and switch configuration management.
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed across California and Arizona.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cisco Meraki, Wireless Access Points, Intune, AOVPN, VDI, Azure, and Entra ID.
- Familiarity with firewall solutions and security policies.
