Cimarron is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician to support the development of Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner, a Boeing spacecraft supporting NASA's Commercial Crew Program, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The selected candidate for this position will be a part of a mission that helps launch astronauts to the International Space Station and advances the future of human space exploration!

Key Duties
- Prepare and perform chemical, materials, and metallurgical testing in support of production and engineering efforts.
- Handle, prepare, and test metallic and non-metallic materials according to industry and program-specific standards.
- Operate laboratory equipment, including microscopes, hardness testers, tensile testers, spectrometers, and ovens/furnaces.
- Perform wet chemistry procedures and other analytical techniques to evaluate coatings, adhesives, and contaminants.
- Record test results, maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, and prepare technical data reports.
- Maintain laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with NASA and Boeing standards.
- Support failure analysis and root cause investigations as needed.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use
- This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
- Proficiency in standard laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and test documentation.
- Experience with wet chemistry techniques and/or metallographic sample preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures and specifications.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 1 or more years of laboratory experience working with aerospace materials, coatings, or adhesives.
- Experience supporting aerospace or government programs.
- Familiarity with NASA specifications and quality systems.
- Knowledge of materials used in spacecraft or launch vehicles.
