Cimarron is seeking Flight Software Developers to support the Orion Program, NASA’s spacecraft designed for deep space exploration, including the Artemis missions to the Moon and beyond. In this role, you will develop, test, and maintain mission-critical flight software, ensuring Orion’s onboard systems function reliably throughout spaceflight. The Orion spacecraft is NASA’s vehicle for the future of human space exploration, designed to carry astronauts beyond Earth’s orbit for the first time in decades. As a Flight Software Developer, you will work on the cutting edge of aerospace software, helping develop the systems that guide, control, and operate Orion throughout its missions.
Ideally, the selected candidates for this job would be located onsite in Denver, CO. However, candidates located in Houston, TX or that can support hybrid or remote work may be considered as well.

Key Duties
- Develop and maintain flight software in C and Python for the Orion spacecraft.
- Work with real-time operating systems (RTEMS/RTOS) to support mission-critical applications.
- Support simulation development for software verification and validation.
- Contribute to software solutions for Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking (RPOD).
- Develop and integrate software within the Core Flight System (CFS)/Core Flight Executive (CFE) framework.
- Work closely with engineers and mission teams to ensure software meets performance and safety requirements.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- 2 or more years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in C and Python for software development.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing software in the CFE/CFS framework.
- Knowledge of simulation development and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
- Familiarity with Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking (RPOD) flight software.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTEMS/RTOS) for aerospace applications.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for complex software systems.
