Cimarron is seeking a Flight Software Infrastructure Lead to lead, develop, and integrate the flight software infrastructure for the StarLab program in Houston, TX. The StarLab will be a low Earth orbit (LEO) space station that will serve as a business park for commercial space and space tourism activities! The flight software infrastructure includes boot software, board support package (BSP), operating system (OS), flight software framework, middleware, and a collection of common support libraries utilized by all flight software applications.

Key Duties
- Lead and develop the flight software infrastructure requirements, design, prototyping, and implementation.
- Significant contributor to programmatic flight software reviews.
- Support flight software certification activities surrounding the flight software infrastructure.
- Present the flight software infrastructure technical topics to internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply systems engineering fundamentals to ensure the flight software infrastructure meets stakeholder needs.
- Perform software engineering "hands-on" tasks as dictated by resource and schedule needs, such as artifact and code reviews, gathering requirements, documenting software design, software implementation, documentation, anomaly resolution, preparing and presenting certification artifacts, and process and standards development.
- Support flight software infrastructure integration, verification, and validation within the system integration lab (SIL).
- Contribute to resource planning, schedule development, and schedule metrics of software schedules.
- Identify risks, provide risk mitigation strategies, and review impacts to schedules and budgets.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- 5 or more years of experience developing software for human-rated systems in highly regulated environments.
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience developing and deploying VxWorks 6.9.
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience developing and deploying cFS (Core Flight System) framework or equivalent.
- 5 or more years of experience leading and coordinating with distributed teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Ability to integrate across a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Ability to work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and 20 or more years of professional experience.
- Experience with manned-space system software and certification.
- Experience with DevOps development pipelines and associated tools.
- Experience with hardware/software interfaces.
- Experience debugging hardware/software interfaces with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
