Cimarron is seeking a Flight Software Lead Architect to develop and lead the flight software architecture for the StarLab program. Key Duties
- Responsible for leading and defining the flight software architecture, requirements, design, prototyping, and implementation for the StarLab space station.
- Serve as the flight software subject matter expert.
- Support flight software certification activities.
- Lead and significantly contribute to programmatic flight software reviews.
- Present flight software technical topics to internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply systems engineering fundamentals to ensure the flight software architecture meets stakeholder needs.
- Support the application of appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools through the development life cycle.
- Perform software engineering "hands on" tasks as dictated by resource and schedule needs, such as artifact and code reviews, gathering requirements, documenting software design, software implementation, documentation, anomaly resolution, preparing and presenting certification artifacts, and process and standards development.
- Support flight software integration, verification, and validation within the system integration lab (SIL).
- Contribute to resource planning, schedule development, and schedule metrics of software schedules.
- Identify risks, provide risk mitigation strategies, and review impacts to schedules and budgets.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- 10 or more years of experience developing and architecting software for human-rated systems in highly regulated environments.
- 10 or more years of experience leading and coordinating distributed teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Ability to integrate across a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Ability to work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
- Bachelor's degree and 20 or more years of experience.
- Experience with manned-space system software and certification.
- Experience with NASA cFS (Core Flight System) framework.
- Experience with VxWorks 6.9 and embedded Linux.
- Experience with hardware/software interfaces.
- Experience debugging hardware/software interfaces with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
