Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Propulsion (GNCP) Flight Software (FSW) Test Engineers to support the Orion Program—NASA’s next-generation spacecraft for deep space exploration, including the Artemis missions. As part of this groundbreaking program, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work on the Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Propulsion (GNCP) systems of the Orion spacecraft, which will carry astronauts around the Moon and pave the way for human exploration of Mars and beyond.
Ideally, the selected candidates for this job would be located onsite in either Houston, TX or Denver, CO. However, hybrid or remote work options may be available.

Key Duties
- Develop, execute, and analyze software tests to validate the GNCP FSW for the Orion spacecraft.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure proper integration and functionality of software with GNCP subsystems.
- Use Python to automate test scripts and support software validation efforts.
- Document test plans, results, and any identified issues, providing feedback to development teams.
- Support verification and validation activities for mission-critical software, ensuring compliance with performance and safety requirements.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- 2 or more years of experience in software testing or software development.
- Experience with software testing, including test planning, execution, and debugging.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink for modeling and simulation.
- Familiarity with Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Propulsion (GNCP) systems or aerospace-related systems.
- Experience in software verification and validation for safety-critical systems.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with an ability to work in cross-functional teams.
