Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking Simulation Software Engineers to join the Orion Program, NASA’s groundbreaking spacecraft for human deep space exploration. In this position, you’ll develop and maintain high-fidelity simulations to support testing, validation, and performance analysis of the spacecraft’s systems. Working on the Orion Program means contributing to NASA’s historic missions, including returning astronauts to the Moon and advancing human space exploration to Mars. As part of this program, you'll be working with cutting-edge technologies in aerospace systems and contributing to the development of a spacecraft that will take humanity beyond Earth’s orbit for the first time in decades.
Ideally, the selected candidates for this job would be located onsite in either Houston, TX or Denver, CO. However, hybrid or remote work options may be available.

Key Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain simulation models to support testing and validation of the Orion spacecraft systems, including Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Propulsion (GNCP) subsystems.
- Implement and enhance simulation software using Python and C for high-fidelity models, testing, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into the design and development process.
- Work with software development teams to ensure seamless integration of simulation tools with flight software and hardware.
- Support system performance analysis and provide critical insights for system optimization and mission planning.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- 2 or more years of software development experience.
- Strong experience with Python and C for simulation software development and automation.
- Experience with developing and maintaining simulation models for aerospace systems or complex engineering applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience supporting a NASA program or project.
- Familiarity with software testing and performance validation in the context of aerospace projects.
