Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a Structures Engineer to support the Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) satellite system program in Highlands Ranch, CO. GeoXO is NOAA’s next-generation Geostationary Extended Observations satellite system, designed to revolutionize how we monitor Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. GeoXO will deliver critical data to improve forecasts and increase preparedness for severe weather, air quality events, and harmful algal blooms. By enhancing public safety and delivering significant economic benefits, GeoXO represents a transformative step in safeguarding lives, property, and our nation’s resilience.
This role will focus on structural engineering, CAD modeling, and integration support to ensure proper clearance checks, interface validation, and system maturation for the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
This is a hybrid role that will allow for some remote work (i.e. work from home).

Key Duties
- Utilize CREO to support CAD modeling, drawing release, and engineering integration maturation from PDR to CDR levels.
- Perform interface specification integration and model clearance checks for the GeoXO spacecraft.
- Conduct ICD validation checks to support spacecraft integration development for PDR and CDR milestones.
- Develop and formally release the GeoXO Critical Clearance List and Model CDRL for customer review.
- Create and submit analysis reports in preparation for PDR and CDR.
- Support trade studies and integration efforts for the GeoXO spacecraft in CREO.
- Ensure compliance with program requirements and coordinate with stakeholders to support engineering documentation, specifications, and system integration.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Proficiency with CREO for CAD modeling, drawing development, and release processes.
- Experience with EDPM (Engineering Data and Process Management) and DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System).
- Strong understanding of structural integration, clearance validation, and interface specifications.
- Experience supporting PDR and CDR development in aerospace or spaceflight programs.
- Ability to develop engineering reports, technical documentation, and formal customer deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of related experience, or Master's degree (or higher) and 1 or more years of related experience.
- Experience with spacecraft structures, system integration, and interface management.
- Familiarity with ICD validation processes, clearance analysis, and field-of-view assessments.
- Previous experience supporting NASA, NOAA, or aerospace defense programs.
