Cimarron is seeking a Data Science Shared Services Manager to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado. The selected candidate for this opportunity will lead a cross-functional team of data scientists, analysts, engineers, and architects in support of the Missile Defense Agency. This role oversees data strategy, project execution, and the delivery of insights to drive data-informed decisions across the IRES contract.
Key Duties:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data professionals to deliver centralized data science support across the organization.
- Develop and implement enterprise-level data governance strategies and data science methodologies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope and budget.
- Design, optimize, and manage ETL processes to maintain data quality, integrity, and availability.
- Monitor program metrics and KPIs to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance on data visualization, collection strategies, and automation opportunities.
- Act as a liaison between the data science team and stakeholders, communicating insights clearly and effectively.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize data initiatives and support mission objectives.
- Manage a federated hub-and-spoke shared services team structure and develop cost-sharing plans.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- 10 or more years of experience in data management and analysis.
- 3 or more years of experience in a leadership and/or management position.
- Experience with data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, MATLAB).
- Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies.
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited course of study.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Previous experience supporting the IRES contract.
- Experience leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in analyzing processes to identify automation opportunities and improve efficiency.
- Proficiency in creating and organizing lists and libraries within SharePoint.
- Ability to define metrics, generate insightful reports, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions.
- Understanding of data lifecycle management best practices.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes such as Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, and Snowflake.
- Knowledge of the role of data within enterprise architecture frameworks.
