Position Overview: Receives and unloads freight with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with purchase order; wraps, packages, and ships supplies; delivers and retrieves supplies to and from work or storage areas; may receive, store, and ship flammable, or caustic and hazardous material; may maintain equipment. Other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies
- Operating material handling equipment, pallet jacks, etc.
- Accessing information on a computer
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness
- Safely operate a forklift to handle material
- Ability to identify grades and types of sheet metal and pipe
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules
- Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
- Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirement
Education Requirements:
- 2-3 years minimum of related work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting 50lbs.
- Standing on hard surface for up to 10 hours per day, in non-climate controlled environment
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic math skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
- Good written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Inventory data entry knowledge
