What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Intern position at Cincinnati Bengals?
The Cincinnati Bengals are seeking an energetic and highly-motivated individual to join the communications department as an intern for the 2025 season (mid-July through mid-February) to assist with day-to-day operations and administrative functions. Candidates with backgrounds in sports communications, journalism and/or media relations are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with players, coaches, staff and media
- Help with the production of key written materials, including the media guide, season review, player and coach bios, weekly news release, flip card and other media information produced throughout the NFL season
- Contribute to the weekly news release, gathering statistical research, team and opponent information, updated player information and other written content
- Facilitate interview requests and serve as team representative during media availabilities
- Help print and distribute credentials and parking for games, practices and other availabilities
- Compile daily media clips
- Edit and distribute transcriptions from players and coaches
- Prepare press box and news conference rooms
Qualifications:
- Experience working for or directly with the media is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of AP Style
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and strong understanding of InDesign
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to interact with players, staff and media in a professional manner
- Ability to work nights, weekends and potentially holidays
