CNC Machine Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

The CNC operator will be responsible for cutting Granite, Marble, and Quartz slabs, by programming the layout of the countertops and taking into consideration all the details provided by the sales department and template person. Duties will include doing a physical layout of the slab with the client, bringing the slab to the warehouse with the forklift, programming, and unloading the saw table with a helper. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have CNC operating experience, an understanding of the stone industry is a plus, and demonstrate strong attention to detail skills.

OBJECTIVES

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments to perform basic quality control checks
• Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed
• Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
• Input specific dimensions and figures into the CNC machinery
• Analyze the information provided on blueprints or other explanatory documents to make sure the final product matches the draft
• Manage the pipeline of all jobs using the company Eased Edge platform and perform daily reviews of jobs
• Program the jobs using the CNC software
• Conduct constant maintenance for the CNC machine that is used and ensure its proper functionality.
• Detect issues in the creation process and find solutions to ensure the machinery creates the product provided in the draft
• Drive the forklift
• Maintain an efficient, clean, and organized work area
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
• Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning.
• Meet with the existing clients to layout their slabs, using the blueprints
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet production goals
• Team up with co-workers to make excellent, proper customer service.

COMPETENCIES

• Proficient in basic math skills and ability to read technical drawings
• Familiarity with tooling and hand tools used in CNC operations
• Knowledge of CAD software programs is a plus
• Strong attention to detail skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work -
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
• Ability to drive a forklift

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• GED or high school diploma preferred
• Previous experience as a CNC Operator or similar role
• Remodeling/ Construction experience is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, walking, and/or sitting
• Ability to lift Granite, Quartz, and Marble pieces.
