- Provide Legal Advice and Counsel- Provide legal advice and counsel within designated areas to institutional leaders, and maintain competency within designated areas and familiarity with legal trends and developments in healthcare and healthcare-related fields. Identify and address compliance and risk issues associated with designated areas and work with applicable staff to optimize compliance and risk management. Advise best practices related to compliance and risk management associated with designated areas.
- Provide Legal Review- Provide legal review for policies and procedures within designated areas as required, provide advice and review of transactions and relationships, and negotiate, draft, and review contracts and agreements within designated areas, as appropriate.
- Provide Training- Assist with the development of training programs and providing training for administrators, faculty, and staff relating to designated areas.
- Staff, Budget or Outside Counsel Management- Responsible for supervising reporting staff and completion of yearly evaluations, responsible for managing budgets, litigation matters, general intellectual property matters, patent and trademark filing, prosecution, and strategy, and/or outside counsel relationships.
- Juris Doctor
- 5 years of work experience practicing law.
- Admission to practice law in Ohio is preferred but bar membership from a state outside of Ohio that will allow for in-house registration with the Ohio Supreme Court is acceptable.
- 10 years experience in labor and employment law
