Director of Clinical and Translational Research

The Department of Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children's is looking for a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and Researcher at the Clinical Faculty level of Associate Professor, or Professor to lead their Clinical and Translational Research Division. The successful candidate will be an employee of Cincinnati Children's, with an academic appointment through the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, commensurate with the individual's qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities for this role are:

·      Acting as a leader of clinical and translational research within the research arm of the Department of Anesthesia.

·      Build existing programs and provide strategic vision for the clinical and translational research portfolio.

·      Establish collaborations, enhance career development and provide mentorship opportunities for investigators within the division.

·      Conduct their own research and contribute to education.

·      Supervise the research coordinators in conjunction with the Clinical Research Manager, Vice Chief for Research and Vice Chief for Pain and Innovation.

Qualifications:  

·      Must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree.

·      Currently hold an active unrestricted medical license.

·      Complete appropriate medical credentialing through Cincinnati Children's Medical Staff Service office.

·      Finish all required pre-employment activities (screening, background check, badging, and orientation).

·      Hold or be eligible for a faculty appointment that aligns with the individual's qualifications and experience.

·      Have previous clinical practice and leadership/management experience.

·      Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders in the research division.

·      Have a strong record of publication and extramural support for their own research.

Preferred:

·      Board certification or Board Eligibility

·      Completion of an accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship

·      Established clinical and/or translational research program related to Anesthesia
