Science Enhancement Teacher

The CHCA Science Enhancement teacher will be responsible for developing creative, hands-on interactive learning activities in our indoor and outdoor learning labs related to Science topics taught in Grades PK-Grade 3.
To ensure success as the Science Enhancement teacher, candidates should exhibit a love of young children and teaching, a strong background in Science, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with the subject matter. This person will collaborate with each grade level to understand topics that are being covered in the classroom to take students learning to a higher and more enriched level.
Teacher Responsibilities:
- Regular collaboration with grade level teachers
- Plan lessons that will enhance and extend topics being presented in the grade level classrooms, focusing on STEM projects, Project Based Learning and other hands-on activities
- Use learner data to constantly refine the curriculum
- Use a wide variety of strategies to engage all learners in the classroom
- Provide regular feedback to students and teachers
- Integrate faith and learning
Teacher Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field
- Current Ohio Department of Education teaching license
- Strong Christian faith
- Sound knowledge of researched based activities using STEM and Project Based Learning best practices and how to incorporate those in CHCA's indoor and outdoor learning labs
- Empathy and great interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel
- Experience working with children ages 2 to 10
- Effective classroom management skills
- Exceptional teamwork skills
