Semester : Spring 2025
Position Summary & Purpose : Development and upgrades of products, materials, processes, or equipment. Under direct supervision / guidance, compiles, analyzes and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, or materials.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Perform the design and development engineering on various size (small to major) research and development projects or sales orders
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems
- Develop and test models of alternative designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification
- Review new and existing writings of manuals and documentation, adding supplemental materials as required
- Collaborate with shop assembly ensuring product is built to design specifications
- Support design aspects of CI machine control upgrades. Determine designs and details required for mounting of equipment, including assembly instruction
- Create assemblies / models / details as needed to support team and provide instruction and data for Manufacturing
