Job Summary: This position is responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions and financial reporting including payroll. Maintains accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and department standards meet all DOL, PRH, and corporate requirements.
Duties:
- Oversees the Centers financial operations, to include Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable plus other financial services. Responsible for the preparation of all Center financial statements.
- Analysis and explanation of all P & L variances for monthly financials.
- Oversees center compliance activities regarding compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other related legislation.
- Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, payroll and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and procedural standards.
- Inputs monthly journal entries into company general ledger software for posting.
- Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing entries.
- Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Supervises finance department and provides training to staff as needed.
- Interviews and recommends for hire, disciplines, and evaluates performance of the direct report staff.
- Complies with all DOL guidelines, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success skills.
- Adheres to required property controls policies and procedures.
- Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
- Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
- Participates in PRH mandated staff training.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.
Requirements

Experience: Prior supervisory experience preferred. Previous Job Corps experience preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field from a four-year college or university is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State driver’s license required.
