Family Services Assistant (SY)

ABILITY TO:
Problem solve effectively, work independently as well as part of a team, engage collaboratively with diverse populations, develop and implement parent/guardian meetings, effectively work within a variety of school learning environments, assist with local/state/federal compliance, and recruitment/enrollment processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF:
- Early Childhood Performance Standards
- Ohio Department of Education Preschool licensing, compliance and Step Up to Quality Standards
- Cincinnati Public Schools Board Policies and Procedures
- Preschool and School Age Health and Safety Requirements
- Required trainings to fulfill district and various grant requirements (including but not limited to: Safeschools, First Aid, CPR and AED, Child Abuse, Communicable Disease, Child Plus, CACFP, federal/state/local programming, etc.
- All data systems: EMIS, Focus, Laserfiche, Child Plus and how to access information
- CACFP requirements; enrollment in CACFP program with ongoing monitoring for compliance
- FERPA and maintaining confidentiality
- Early Childhood registration/enrollment forms/documentation and processes to complete in collaboration with families from recruitment to enrollment ( Online Registration System, magnet lottery etc.)
- Various local/state/federal grants, eligibility guidelines, and federal poverty guidelines.
- District and school community for recruitment activities, family support and resources
- Community resources centered on wellness, mental, emotional and physical health and daily living
- Ability to provide support at various CPS preschool buildings to serve students, families and staff
- Providing and implementing various ways to engage and communicate with families, school staff and community to ensure the highest quality services to our students and families
- Maintaining required student documentation in cumulative folders and other data systems
- Individual student health needs (medicals, dentals, health plans, heights/weights, blood pressures, vision and hearing screenings)
- Individualized health/nutrition plans and medication
- Coordinating and implementing required Parent/Guardian meetings at school sites according to performance standards and secure resources and presenters to encourage family engagement
- Family Partnership Agreements and how to support families goals
- Local, state, and federal resources to provide emergency assistance for families
- Maintaining accurate documentation to ensure local,state and federal compliance
- School environment to assist with various transitions
- Monitoring, collaborating, and assisting in removing barriers for staff and families to ensure student academic/social emotional growth
- Strong mathematical and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Recruiting and participating in Policy Counsel Committee meetings
- Early Childhood and Social Emotional Development
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or HS Diploma with passing Praxis score
- An ODE Educational Aide permit with the ESEA endorsement
EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS
Starting Salary Range: $20.20 per hour
Service Period: School year only
