Position Overview
The Fine Arts Curriculum & Instruction Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of fine arts programs across Cincinnati Public Schools. This role emphasizes collaboration with educators, community partners, and national organizations to provide high-quality, sequential arts education that enriches student learning and fosters artistic excellence.
Responsibilities
Program Development and Evaluation
- Oversee the design, implementation, and assessment of high-quality fine arts curricula and instructional programs.
- Ensure curricula are sequential and provide consistent arts opportunities, fostering arts-rich environments for all students.
Professional Development
- Organize and execute professional-quality performances and showcases, providing students with practical job experience in arts-related fields.
- Develop and recommend professional development opportunities based on data and evidence-based best practices.
Community and Organizational Engagement
- Establish and foster relationships with international, national, and state organizations, and visiting artists, to enhance program offerings.
- Actively seek grant funding to support and sustain fine arts programming.
Data Analysis and Decision-Making
- Analyze district-wide student outcome data to inform systematic improvements and strategic decisions.
Budget and Resource Management
- Oversee the District Fine Arts budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources.
- Secure instructional materials and human resources to enhance curriculum implementation.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead district-wide fine arts programming and events, fostering a culture of artistic excellence.
- Collaborate with Curriculum Councils to ensure teachers have access to high-quality curriculum and professional learning experiences.
- Attend and contribute to monthly Interdisciplinary Curriculum Council meetings.
Teacher Support and Recruitment
- Support, mentor, and recruit fine arts teachers, promoting professional growth and development.
- Manage the Fine Arts Itinerant program, ensuring effective deployment of resources.
Communication and Dissemination
- Disseminate information regarding evidence-based practices, curriculum updates, national standards, and Ohio Department of Education standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in English Language Arts, Reading, or a related field.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a State of Ohio Administrative Certificate.
- Minimum of five (5) years of K-12 teaching experience.
- Strong background in curriculum development, instructional improvement, and student achievement.
- Knowledge of state and national standards, professional development models, and data-driven decision-making.
Contract Provisions
Type of Contract: Limited - 261 Days
Salary: Manager I - Per CAAS Agreement
