Job Purpose:
The Events and Projects Manager is responsible for special projects and initiatives, taking the lead in planning, organizing, and executing events and special programs, ranging from small-scale museum events to fundraising dinners, baseball camps (Reds Fantasy Camp), ceremonies, and induction-related events. The Manager manages the event budget, oversees logistics, galvanizes support and collaboration, works directly with internal and external constituents, effectively communicates plans/reports, and is hands-on at the event to ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple moving parts under pressure and bring a strong sense of our organization’s needs and how events fit into our broader strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, coordinate, and execute a variety of Hall of Fame events and projects of different size and scope.
- Develop project and event plans and timelines, creating detailed schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure projects stay on track.
- Managing project and event budgets and resources, tracking expenses and revenues, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring projects stay within budget constraints.
- Manage longstanding events such as Reds Fantasy Camp, a week-long camp in Goodyear, AZ, Induction festivities, special ceremonies, autograph sessions, meet and greets, offsite events, and more.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and customers to ensure events and programs meet objectives.
- Monitor project performance while tracking key metrics, identifying potential risks and challenges, and communicating project status to stakeholders.
- Communicate directly with event participants and attendees to ensure best in class experiences.
- Act onsite to execute the events.
- Oversee a summer events intern to assist with events and activities.
- Perform game-day duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, sports administration or a related field.
- Must have demonstrated a proven track record of success and be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as required.
- A minimum requirement of 2 years in the event industry is required.
Knowledge and Skills
- The candidate should be meticulous, organized, and outgoing.
- Knowledge of the game of baseball, the sport industry, and basic Reds history is important.
- Candidates should also possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, have proficient computer skills in MS Office applications, and be a team player who is self-motivated, creative, and can proactively solve problems.
- The candidate will have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, possess strong time management skills and can multi-task while handling a high volume of work.
- Candidates must present a professional attitude and appearance and have a desire to succeed with openness to learning and upgrading skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Interns, Volunteers and Staff related to certain projects.
