Job Purpose:
Museum Ambassadors are essential to all facets of museum operations. They bring the history of Reds baseball to life while providing exceptional service to guests. Museum Ambassadors conduct ballpark and museum tours and present information in a clear and concise manner, accommodating visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, they assist with game day sales and fundraising initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct back-to-back tours of Great American Ball Park and the Reds Hall of Fame, approximately 60-90 minutes in length.
- Disseminate ballpark and museum information in an engaging and entertaining way.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all museum exhibits and initiatives.
- Assist with education programs and school groups as directed by management.
- Assist with museum special events.
- Assist in game day shift coverage inside the Hall of Fame and in the Fan Zone fundraising booths and merchandise shops.
- Enforce ballpark security regulations while being alert and aware of the surroundings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
College degree, actively working towards a degree, or equivalent work experience required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience and comfort in public speaking with the ability to manage and entertain various-size groups of all ages and knowledge.
- Must physically be able to lead several tours a day of Great American Ball Park and the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum.
- Possess solid customer service skills.
- Possess good judgment, empathy, and common sense when handling unexpected situations.
- Possess a positive attitude that demonstrates approachability and friendliness.
- Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time and climb stairs/ramps throughout the ballpark.
- Ability to lift 15 or more pounds.
- Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have a positive and upbeat demeanor with a team-player mentality.
- Knowledge of Reds history or a strong desire to learn the history of the Reds franchise is essential.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Some volunteers.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to prevalent weather conditions for short periods of time.
- Job duties require the ability to stand for long periods of time.
