Adjunct- CState Complete Professional Development Trainer
Overview:
The Professional Development Trainer will collaborate with the CState Complete Faculty Champion and staff to research, develop, implement and deliver an online, interactive professional development course for faculty and staff that focuses on supporting Cincinnati State students to increase retention and prevent stop-outs.

The Professional Development Trainer will collaborate with the CState Complete Faculty Champion and staff to research, develop, implement and deliver an online, interactive professional development course for faculty and staff that focuses on supporting Cincinnati State students to increase retention and prevent stop-outs.
Essential Duties:
1. Research and Needs Assessment
- Collaborate with the CState Complete Faculty Champion and staff to identify the specific challenges and needs related to student retention and stop-out prevention.
- Research existing strategies and best practices for supporting community college students in these areas.
2. Course Development
- Design an online interactive professional development course focused on strategies to increase student retention and prevent stop-outs.
- Develop course materials, including multimedia content and interactive elements, that address key topics such as early intervention, academic support, and student engagement.
- Make recommendations for purchased software or program access that will enhance the course.
- Create a detailed course outline and content plan for review and approval.
3. Implementation & Delivery
- Assist in setting up the course on the College’s learning management system (LMS).
- Test the course to ensure functionality and interactivity.
- Deliver course to a pilot group of faculty and staff.
- Provide support and revisions based on pilot group feedback.
- Provide Faculty Champion and staff with pertinent follow-up details or recommendations for course management in writing upon implementation of course.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development or online course development
- Familiarity with community colleges or working with diverse student populations, particularly in retention or student success programs
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, etc.
- Knowledge of multimedia tools for course creation (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in faculty or staff training and development
- Familiarity with grant-funded program implementation
- Basic graphic design or video editing skills
Reports To: CState Complete Program Manager
Position Level: Adjunct Faculty
Compensation: $660 per unit
Contract Affiliation: Non-bargaining
Classification: Non-exempt
Status: Part-time up to 100 hours
