Parenting Resource Center Assistant
Overview:
This grant-funded position will assist with day-to-day operations of the Parenting Resource Center (PRC). The PRC provides a variety of supports for parenting students. Responsibilities of the Assistant will include maintaining a welcoming, clean, and supportive environment for users of the Center; providing optimal customer service; assisting the Manager with programming, marketing, and outreach efforts; and possible interaction with children of PRC users. The PRC Assistant will work up to 24 hours/week. Weekly schedule and specific hours may vary based on Center needs.
Essential Duties:
- Welcome and orient visitors
- Respond to internal and external communications
- Engage with students and their children
- Maintain a hospitable physical environment
- Provide internal referrals as appropriate
- Assist in coordination of events and activities for parenting students
- Assist in maintaining social media accounts
- Assist with training and oversight of student workers
- Participate in the launch and maintenance of a student organizations for parenting students.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Highly developed customer service skills
- Desire to encourage student success
- Reliability and accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college
- Experience working in a higher education / community college setting
- Experience with children
- Familiarity with Cincinnati State’s mission / student population
- Experience with multiple social media platforms
- CDA or ability to earn CDA credential
Desired Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse professional, student, and community populations
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
Reports To: Parent Resource Project Manager / Dean of Humanities and Sciences
Compensation: $17.00-$19.00/hour commensurate with qualifications and experience
