Institutional Advancement - Major Gifts Officer Major Gifts Officer is responsible for dramatically increasing major gifts with an emphasis on growing seven figure commitments to Cincinnati State in support of the College's mission. Under the direction ofthe Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director, the Major Gifts Officer willenhance the major gifts program in coordination with College and Foundation leadership.Cincinnati State has achieved record growth in public and private commitments for students and academic programs in recent years and has great capacity to increase support of the College, while needing to properly steward major gift support in place.Essential Duties :
- Oversee and accelerate major gifts program under the direction of Chief of InstitutionalAdvancement and Foundation Executive Director in collaboration with College President and keyvolunteers from College Board of Trustees, Foundation and Alumni Boards.
- Shape and submit request proposals to achieve support to meet key needs of College andFoundation priorities included Clifton Campus Master Plan and other program expansion needsat other locations.
- Develop opportunities to fill needed gaps by leveraging institutional, State and other publiccommitments, as well as to build upon previous philanthropic support to win new six and sevenfigure commitments.
- Work with College colleagues of respective academic programs, student support services andadministration to facilitate substantial asks which can be implemented and tracked by theCollege.
- Steer growth in naming and sponsorship rights and opportunities for College programs so thatstudent success is increased and regional employer needs are met.
- Establish fundraising goals with Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation ExecutiveDirector for year one, three years and five years.
- Meet weekly with Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director andprovide monthly reports.
- Collaborate with Institutional Advancement team on fundraising, tracking and data needs toinclude consultants involving grant requests, government affairs requests, and philanthropiccampaign priorities.
- Manage and maintain engagement with list of current major donors, steward donors into majorgift donors and bring new major gift donors to support the College.
- Identify not only major cash donations needed for programs, but equipment and other programsupports needed given large number of students and employers served in technical programs.
- Strategically engage with supporters and prospects with wholistic consideration on other givingopportunities and commitments which involve planned giving, events, scholarships and more.Minimum qualifications :
- Minimum of four (4) years of development experience.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience with project management.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in collaborative partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability for teamwork.Preferred Qualifications :
- Higher Education experience.
- Certified Fund Raising Executive CFRE.Desired competencies :
