Fair Chance Works (FCW) seeks a Community Violence Intervention Manager (CVI). FCW is dedicated to assisting individuals who are legal system-impact, attempting to leave a life of violence, and have experienced homelessness or substance abuse disorder, in overcoming barriers and achieving self-sustainability. We believe our Members own their individual goals and expectations and can change.The CVI Manager will manage all aspects of the Fair Chance Works Program which ensures that each Member is connected to the unique set of services necessary for them to achieve their goals. This role will support a collaborative relationship that promotes Members making positive decisions for themselves by exploring options and information.This role will also support the Director of FCW with community partnership development & retention and will ensure FCW Members are treated with professionalism, integrity, and value.Role and Responsibilities:
- Relationship Building: This role will support and manage through empathy and understanding, while empowering our high-risk Members to set their own goals and make positive decisions through collaborative relationships.
- Support & Retain: Oversee and manage job retention and mitigate barriers through regular contact to monitor, encourage progress and provide building relationship opportunities.
- Develop baseline stability assessments, detailed action plans with subsequent strategies for improvement.
- Ensure the principles of networking, barrier mitigation, education and skill exploration are supported by research techniques, analysis and planning.
- Monitor retention of employment placements at 14, 30, 60, 90 and 180 days.
- Manage: Oversee the program by working with participants in cooperation with CW staff, parole
- and probation staff and continuing care service providers, for the development and execution of the Fair Chance Service Plan.
- Incarceration Pre-Release Services: Set a strategy for the management of pre-release activities and plans, define terminology, and identify community resources which includes providing in-person career readiness and soft skills training to Members incarcerated at prisons and detention centers, and coordinating and participating in providing transportation upon release from prisons and detention centers to transitional housing as needed.
- Community Engagement: Develop and retain trusted relationships with community organization partners.
- Management of Barbershop Talk Series; a monthly peer support group, and career readiness and soft skills training.
- Data Management: Manage, record, and track participant data, goals, and progress in Salesforce Customer Management System.
- Professional Development: Attend team meetings, training, and workshops to enhance job skills.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Fair Chance Works.
- Education and Experience:
- The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Personal lived experience in one or more of the following:
- Incarceration, criminal record, and/or engagement in violent activities
- Addiction recovery
- Experienced transitional housing or homelessness
- Deep Knowledge of the culture of poverty, experience working with the unemployed or under-employed, and understanding the needs and behaviors of our targeted demographic.
- Three to five years of experience in management, career coaching/counseling, mentoring, or supporting high-risk individuals through job and career transitions.
- Work experience and/or post-secondary education/training demonstrating an ability to perform the duties as described.
- Demonstrated strong communication and customer service, problem-solving, critical thinking, & judgment skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to incorporate trauma-informed care principles into building relationships.
- Ability to incorporate a strengths-based approach to promote resilience and empowerment.
- Familiarity with criminal justice systems, including related laws, processes, and policies.
- Experienced in providing crisis intervention and support.
- Comfortable working with technology and finding insights from data.
- Demonstrated level of confidentiality in handling sensitive conversations and information.
