Residential Mortgage Loan Officer – Cincinnatus
Position Overview:
Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while originating a full range of loan products, including mortgage, commercial, business, consumer, and home equity lines of credit. This role demands proactive engagement with clients and community members to drive loan growth and product penetration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Successfully originate and close $10 million or more in mortgage loan sales annually, consistently achieving and exceeding production goals.
- Proactively generate leads and referrals through current and past clients, real estate professionals, builders, business networks, and community involvement.
- Meet with applicants to gather loan application information, answer questions about loan programs, and evaluate financial and credit data to recommend optimal loan solutions aligned with both client objectives and organizational standards.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate loan applications, ensuring all necessary forms and documents are submitted prior to processing. Collaborate with underwriters and processors to address any potential issues proactively.
- Act as the primary point of contact throughout the loan process from application through underwriting and closing, and maintain involvement post-closing for servicing-related inquiries.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities and promote all Cincinnatus financial products and services.
- Participate actively in local community and professional organizations to enhance the company’s presence and reputation.
- Adhere strictly to internal policies, industry regulations, and professional conduct standards, including those related to BSA, AML, and security.
- Remain up-to-date on lending regulations, market trends, and new financial products.
- Maintain a customer-first attitude by being responsive, professional, and friendly throughout all client interactions.
- Recommend new financial products and services based on market trends and customer needs.
- Complete all required annual training and certifications.
Additional Expectations:
- Recognize and act on potential sales and referral opportunities, directing customers to specialized personnel when appropriate.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Cincinnatus in every customer and community interaction.
- Maintain a high standard of compliance and ethical conduct across all duties and responsibilities.
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalent, college preferred.
- Advance sales skills training and secondary market guidelines
Required Experience:
- Minimal 2-3 years’ experience in lending, which includes products, processing, closing and servicing (required).
- License – NMLS (required)
- Exceptional sales skills
- Knowledge in both conventional, government lending and secondary market policies and procedures.
- Must display exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in word processing and spreadsheet software.
Physical Requirements:
Low physical effort required to stand majority of shift, bend, stoop, lift, and walk. Maximum unassisted lift = 35lbs. Average lift less than 10lbs. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator. Also requires the ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone.
Environmental Requirements:
Inside average office environment. Average office noise levels. No personal protective equipment required. Ambient temperature between 68 and 76F.
