Reporting to the Public Works Director, the City Engineer leads a very active Engineering Division and is responsible for delivering a wide variety of programs and services to the community. Supported by a team of 12 full-time professionals, this person oversees project design and construction; land development and permitting; utilities coordination; vehicle, pedestrian, and bike facilities; and the physical upkeep of City parks, buildings, and utility infrastructure. Essential duties:
•Safely deliver the projects in the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in a streamlined, expedited, cost-effective manner
•Oversee land development and permitting services
•Mentor and train staff
•Coordinate programs and projects with the utilities that serve the City
•Attend and present information at Public Works Commission meetings
•Serve as the Public Works Director during the Public Works Director’s absence and as needed
