Overview
We are a small, private, out-of-network dental office seeking a warm, detail-oriented Front desk staff member, who can double as a back-up Dental Assistant. Our ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by providing exceptional customer service to our patients and supporting our small dental team. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of dental terminology, solid understanding of dental insurance processes, and familiarity with general dental procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently, process patient information, and verify insurance coverage.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Explain EOB’s and speak to patients about their insurance coverage.
- Familiarity with out of network benefit situations wanted.
- Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage correspondence.
- Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed (having a strong familiarity with dental coding needed).
- Serve as back-up Dental Assistant when needed to seat patients, turnover rooms, or assist with sterilization of instruments.
- In the event our Dental Assistant is out, help with dental assisting procedures in the realm of four-handed general dentistry.
- Help to maintain a clean and organized office.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with front desk AND Dental Assistant duties required.
- Experience verifying benefits, processing insurance claims, and speaking with patients directly
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Open Dental is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding patient care.

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
