Duties / Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :
Must have strong air quality experience
Obtain required air quality permits, renewals, and modifications for major Title V sources.
Title V compliance coordination with DEQ, AQD, and EPA
NSR permitting for air quality
Responsible for all monitoring, record keeping and reporting to regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with construction and operating permits. Initiate and assist in plant wide testing of operations, process variables, and new raw materials as needed. Supervise testing by directing supervisors, operators, and technicians as required.
Assist and provide guidance on all other required permitting, monitoring, and reporting for other environmental regulatory and agency requirements, including :
Land Quality, Water Quality, Solid & Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Substance, SPCC, SWPPP, BLM, SEO, USFWS, WGFD, PCB & MSDS.
Review and comment on proposed new regulatory requirements to various agencies to promote sound environmental policy with the greatest flexibility. Provide recommendations to management for economically efficient and environmentally sound compliance alternatives to compliance issues.
Spend time interfacing with various departments regarding permit requirements. Explain the criteria of dust control requirements, including the dust control action plan to reduce fugitive emissions at the site.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes while focusing on safety and best practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Demonstrated experience understanding permit requirements and working with plant personnel on being successful.
Demonstrated ability to work with agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
Outstanding communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in environmental or biological sciences.
2 - 4 years' experience in industrial and / or mining environmental permitting and compliance.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
