Manufacturing Engineer- Machining

JOB TITLE:  Manufacturing Engineer - Machining 
LOCATION:  Lafayette, IN
ON SITE/HYBRID/REMOTE:  Onsite 
SALARY:  $29.00/hr

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:
•     Oversee the Machine Shop and the job performances of the Machinists.
•    Ensure the Machine Shop operates in full compliance with work procedures and standards

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-    Responsible for set-up and operations of special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill) and numeric control machines.
-    Provide programming support during inspection.
-    Update CNC programs as needed
-    Create new or update existing manufacturing process documentation of programmed parts. 
-    Assist with program issues or updates needed on a promptly manner to ensure manufacturing of parts to specification, provide programming shop support.
-    Provide status to Leadership with updates and documentation as needed. 
-    Work with Engineers, Quality and Production team members on issues that develop.
-    Work with Manager and Engineering to fixture and design methods of manufacturing complex parts.
-    Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, drawings, and work instructions.
-    Maintain/Enforce 6S, AS9100, and standards and practices in the Machine Shop.
-    Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required.
-    Comply with safety regulations for moving heavy objects and using machinery.
-    Ensure work areas and kept clean and organized, free from FOD
-    Abide by Enterprises policies, training, and quality and safety practices.
-    Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-    Bachelor’s degree in engineering
-    High school Diploma or GED

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
-    Experience in CNC machining or combination of experience and training.
-    Experience with operating CNC machines with 5-Axis  
-    Ability to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as, speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.
-    Excellent communication skills and ability to work in team environment.
-    Possesses strong computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
