Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team in supporting complex database development and management efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL development, database performance tuning, and the ability to work collaboratively with developers, users, and customers. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and a passion for building and maintaining efficient, secure, and high-performing database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop SQL and PL/SQL code to support backend reporting and custom database functionality.
- Create and maintain scripts to automate database management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Design, optimize, and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and complex queries in support of application development.
- Maintain and update database schemas, designs, and data structures across development environments.
- Collaborate with application developers, users, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.
- Serve as a technical SME on data ingestion and transformation from external sources, including file systems.
- Perform routine database maintenance activities including patching, backups, restores, and security audits.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies and best practices.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and development standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in database development and administration.
- Active Top Secret clearance required.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with hands-on experience developing stored procedures, triggers, and custom scripts.
- Strong experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with ingesting and transforming data from external sources.
- Familiarity with database design principles and schema management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise database systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices as they relate to database integration.
- Knowledge of data modeling tools and version control systems.
