Position Summary:
As a FP&A leader for Cinterra, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing financial performance, forecasting future financial trends, and providing strategic insights to drive informed decision-making. You will oversee the financial planning process, analyze financial data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the organization's growth and profitability objectives.
This position requires being able to communicate at an executive level and with senior leaders in the organization. Good communication skills along with being able to improve the organization through system upgrades, standardization, employee development, and functional organization is a must.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and identify key drivers influencing financial performance.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess project economics, profitability, and investment opportunities.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and market trends.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Manage the annual budgeting process, including coordination with department heads and executive leadership.
- Forecast financial results and cash flow projections based on market dynamics, project pipelines, and operational performance.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities for course correction.
3. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data, KPIs, and key business metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility into financial performance and support decision-making processes.
4. Strategic Planning & Business Support:
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and potential acquisitions.
- Conduct financial due diligence for new projects, investments, and partnerships.
- Provide financial insights and support for business case development, pricing strategies, and risk management.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Construction, Sales, Center of Excellence and Human Resources to align financial goals with operational strategies.
- Support Business Line Leaders with financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and decision support.
6. Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with Financial Regulations, Accounting Standards, and Internal Controls.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate financial reviews and audits.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the renewable energy, utility, or construction industries.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial planning software, and ERP systems.
- Experience with Microsoft DataVerse and PowerBI a plus.
- A proven track record in leading and executing implementation processes.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial insights to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- CPA, CFA, or relevant professional certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- May be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone, along with other general office equipment.
- Close vision abilities required due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting/carrying of 25 lbs may be required.
- Reaching overhead or below.
- Work environment may include being able to tolerate moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, light traffic) .
- Ability to work in a confined area.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
