Position Summary
As a Sales Estimator, you will play a key role in the success of CIP Retail by producing detailed, accurate estimates for client projects and bidding opportunities. Your work will directly contribute to the company’s growth by ensuring competitive pricing and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses strong analytical skills to evaluate project specifications, material requirements, and labor costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate Costs: Assess material, labor, and time requirements for commercial retail interior décor projects, including fixtures, wall treatments, and custom design elements.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present detailed cost proposals, bids, outsource material and tender documents.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales and design teams to develop customized solutions that align with client expectations.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, pricing strategies, and vendor offerings to provide competitive estimates.
- Analyze Drawings and Specifications: Develop precise project estimates based on architectural documentation.
- Use Mathematical Equations: Calculate material needs based on width, length, depth, and density.
- Manage Bid Files: Assemble, maintain, and document all relevant project information for future reference.
- Ensure Estimate Accuracy: Self-review specifications, material lists, and final pricing to minimize errors.
- Collaborate with Purchasing: Maintain up-to-date resource information on products, vendors, and pricing.
- Manage Project Deadlines: Ensure timely and accurate estimates for client requests while balancing multiple projects.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Sales Estimator, preferably in the commercial retail interior décor, furniture, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of interior design materials, finishes, and pricing structures.
- Ability to read and interpret design plans, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations.
- Proficiency in estimating software (Epicor preferred), CRM tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Illustrator is a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing, construction processes, and installation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- A team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
