As the Lead Veterinary Technician, you will be playing an essential role in the day-to-day operations of our hospital. Our vet tech team is the heart of the practice, so an outgoing personality, a sense of humor, excellent communication and organization skills, as well as a fun-loving, positive attitude are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Collaborate with the veterinary team and management to implement best practices and policies to ensure the clinic runs efficiently.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of veterinary technicians in accordance with our core values, while fostering a positive culture.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance, feedback, and support to team members to help them develop professionally.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure smooth, efficient clinic operations, including managing workflow, ensuring completion of tasks, and maintaining a high standard of care.
- Client Relations: Act as a point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent communication and addressing any concerns or questions regarding their pets’ care.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of veterinary care and ensure compliance with safety protocols and clinic policies.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Possesses the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Is detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to complete assigned tasks without supervision, and has the ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Maintains excellent client communication and patient care, including client education. Must be comfortable with discussing finances, review of treatment plans and plan of care with clients. Must be able to handle stressful situations with calm and compassion.
- Is proficient in running and reading in house diagnostic testing, and is familiar with outside lab protocols.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years in a leadership position.
- Minimum 5 years Vet Tech experience. LVT Preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, treatments, standard protocols, and equipment.
- At least 2 years of experience with assisting with surgery and monitoring pets under anesthesia is required.
- Experience and proficiency with Dental Cleanings is required. Experience with taking dental radiographs highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A passion for animal care and team success.
- Must be willing and available to work rotating opening/closing shifts, and Saturdays.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Experience with EzyVet system preferred, but not required.
- Bi-lingual a plus but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
