After School Site Director Full Time - Southwest Austin
The Child Development Center is looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and highly motivated Site Director for our After-School CREW Program, which serves students at nine elementary schools in the Southwest Austin area.
As the Site Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the after-school experience for children by bringing your energy, leadership, and vision to the program. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the after-school site, including planning developmentally appropriate activities, managing staff, and fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere for students and families. This position is a full-year, full-time, exempt position. During the school year, the hours are approximately Monday-Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, although schedules may vary. Schedules vary during the summer.
About CREW: We operate licensed after-school programs on-site for elementary students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade at nine Austin ISD elementary schools. Our mission at CREW is to offer a safe and fun enrichment program where kids are active, learn essential life skills, and build a sense of community. Site Director Duties Include:
- Oversee the development and facilitation of their school site.
- Assume full responsibility for all aspects of the site, including but not limited to the implementation of the program, facilities operation of the school-age program, program/community relations, and utilization and development of staff and faculty.
- Oversee the daily operations of the program and assist teachers in mentoring children, as well as provide guidance and support to the assistant teachers when needed.
- Create an enjoyable and safe environment for both students and staff.
- Manage program staff and hold teachers accountable to all CDC policies, licensing standards and operate your site in such a way that meets all of CDC’s expectations.
- Attend special events to promote the program when needed.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with families, teachers, school district leaders, state licensing authorities and staff.
- Create developmentally and age-appropriate lesson plans and quality activities that align with Texas Rising Star program, ensure it is implemented at a high level by assistant teachers;
- Create high-quality monthly newsletters for families.
- Provide lunch monitoring on-site at the assigned elementary school.
- Maintain compliance with Texas Rising Star and licensing standards.

Requirements:
- At least 1 years of teaching experience in a similarly licensed program
- Managerial and/or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree Required
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Education is preferred and a huge plus
- General computer proficiency is required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Candidates must meet all Texas Department of Health and Human Services (Child Care Licensing) requirements
- Candidates must have reliable transportation.
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday
- Must pass state and national background check
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be on your feet for long periods of time
- Being bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus
About the Child Development Center: The CDC is a private, not-for-profit NAEYC and Texas Rising Star (4 Star) preschool located in Southwest Austin. The CDC has developed partnerships with AISD, including unique inclusion classrooms, after-school programs, and summer camps for school-age children.
