Master Baker – Alaska Commissary Facility

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Baker to oversee our Commissary Facility baking team in Anchorage, AK. The Master Baker will be responsible for overseeing the production of a wide variety of baked goods, ensuring the highest quality and consistency. This role requires extensive baking knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for creating exceptional products.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 (Depending on Experience).

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and baking of a wide range of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.

• Develop and refine recipes to enhance product offerings and meet customer preferences.

• Train and mentor junior bakers, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards are maintained.

• Ensure all baked goods meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering of supplies to ensure efficient production.
• Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition.
• Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute production schedules.
• Follow all safety and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience as a baker, with a strong background in a commissary or commercial bakery setting.
• In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to develop and refine recipes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work early morning shifts and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Must work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, including freezers, coolers, and production equipment areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and climbing.
