Duties
- Process customer transactions efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their needs.
- Help customers locate products within the grocery store and provide information on promotions or specials.
- Upsell additional items to enhance the customer’s shopping experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and surrounding spaces.
- Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with bussing duties as needed, ensuring a tidy environment for customers.
- Manage time effectively to minimize wait times for customers during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a grocery store or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and help customers with inquiries.
- Familiarity with POS systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is beneficial.
- Excellent time management skills to handle peak hours efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
